Oc and lâu is a Vietnamese cuisine institution in LA. This place specializes in Vietnamese seafood, mainly snails. Make sure you waitlist ahead of time because they are always packed with long wait lines. Unfortunately our family decided to go on a day where one of the locations was closed so everyone was going to the newer location. We were a part of 8 and there were 3 groups of 10+ people ahead of us, we waited for about 20-30 minutes. We got several kinds of snail dishes, stir fried noodles with snail and crab, Bo ne, shaken beef, filet mignon wit udon, shaken fish, and crispy rice with pork floss and sausage. We usually get more seafood dishes but half of our party just hadddd to get shaken beef Most of the snail dishes were good but one of them was over cooked and too chewy, I couldn't even bite it in half. The snail and crab noodle was good as well though I did bite into a couple crab shells. All of the shaken beef dishes were above average, but the shaken fish dish was sooo good. Overall pretty good but I enjoyed the food more during my last visit here, can't really beat the lobster tail with udon noodle.

And after many many years this place is still our family and friends favorite place. It's a must have when you visit OC. What I love about this place is their food is always consistent. I have never been here on a day when the food is not good and we have been coming here weekly for years. There's also a dish for everyone. Second of all their customer service is amazing. Everyone is very nice and helpful. I have not encounter once when I felt they were rude or grumpy. They might have upsold me on dishes but I did it willingly lol. Wish I can hire their team to sell products for me. Haha Remember there is always a wait here (that's how great the food and service is) so keep that in consideration. Tip : come for an earlier dinner (7-8pm is usually crazy pack). =) Ps Their shrimp in coconut is in season. You're welcome!

We stopped by this place after a day at the beach. Pretty busy and packed restaurant. Good thing we signed up for the waitlist early on Yelp. This is their 2nd location and it's located in a bigger business plaza with more parking spaces. We ordered the grilled king scallops with fish eggs, fillet mignon shaken beef with fried rice, fried fish spring rolls, and mango squid salad. The best dish was the fillet mignon which was delicious and very flavorful, but the fried rice was very bland and undesirable. The other dishes were okay, kinda mediocre and not worth ordering again. The complimentary dessert was really good though. They have a large menu with so many food and drink items. Service was alright. It could be a bit better.

Absolutely love the food here! Oc & Lau serves traditional Vietnamese food with a modern twist! They're known for their snails and clam, which come on a sizzling hot plate. It can seem a bit daunting if you've never tried snail before but would highly recommend! Their fried fish was also super crispy and pairs nicely with the tart green apple on the side. This second location can accommodate larger parties since it's more spacious than the first, and theres ample parking in the back

This place is my best choice for seafood when I'm in OC. I love this location, new and have many tables. I was always lucky to get table right away. They dont usually crazor clams when I came . Special mango salad with squid and snail is really good. The chili crab is just as good as the one I had in Singapore. It doesnt come deep fried bun, so dont forget to order that for dipping with the spicy crab sauce. The food quality is very consistent. It has the same flavor whenever I come. The food come out very fast. Shouldnt order everything at one time! Otherwise they will get cold before you touch it.

Came here for a special birthday and was not disappointed! Our table of 7 ordered a feast and the standouts were definitely the scallops, stir fried veggies, and basil clams. Everything was super flavorful and unique. If I were to come back with a smaller party, I would order more scallops and probably pass on the crab since it's so much harder to eat. Their cocktails were nice and sweet. The service was very attentive despite the busy restaurant. A great place for elevated but still comforting foods.

The restaurant is incredibly busy; we waited in line for over 30 minutes. We started with appetizers bloody clams, mango salad, and snails. And for entrees we got fried rice & hot pot. I loved everything! Staff is attentive despite it being busy. Would def come back to try other items on the menu. Honorable Mentions: -Good for sharing/bug groups -Accepts credit card
